The American Lawyer has named mergers & acquisitions counsel Sarah Davis (Boston) among the publication’s 2022 “Dealmakers of the Year.” The award recognizes Sarah’s work advising Altimeter Growth Corp. on its $39.6 billion merger with Singapore-based ride-hailing company Grab Holdings—the largest special purpose acquisition company merger of 2021.
In its March 28 profile of the deal, The American Lawyer lauds Sarah for handling “a cross-border transaction with multiple stakeholders (including SoftBank, Uber, Toyota and Didi) and several financing partners across multiple time zones that needed to close within six weeks.” The publication also notes Sarah’s ability to build a strong working relationship with co-counsel to get the deal done.
“Having expertise in M&A and capital markets was really useful, and it was a natural point of entry for Ropes,” Sarah told The American Lawyer. “We were all excited to be part of a history-making deal.”
The prestigious “Dealmakers of the Year” list honors outstanding corporate attorneys who display flexibility, innovation and ingenuity in guiding clients through their biggest, most complex deals.
