Ropes & Gray ranked number one on The American Lawyer’s A-List, marking the sixth consecutive year the firm has placed in the top-three. A-List recognition is one of the legal industry’s most coveted honors. Only 20 U.S. firms make the list each year, and earning a spot shows that a firm excels in its commitment to its clients, lawyers and communities.
This marks the 12th consecutive year the firm has made the prestigious list, which measures firms across multiple dimensions, including firm financial performance, pro bono, racial diversity, associate satisfaction and gender equity.
“I always feel like the underdog, and I think a lot of our partners do. And that is a healthy place to be,” said Julie Jones, chair of Ropes & Gray. “You have that mindset that we need to fight for our position with our clients and avoid complacency. And I think when you have that mentality, like, ‘Hey, Ropes & Gray continues to be the one climbing the mountain,’ it makes it easier to keep pushing.”
