Ropes & Gray ranked ninth in the 2022 edition of The American Lawyer’s Midlevel Associate Survey, marking the third straight year the firm has ranked in the top 10. The survey asks third-, fourth- and fifth-year associates to rate their firms based on several aspects of job satisfaction, including interest in and satisfaction level with the work; benefits and compensation; relations with partners and other associates; training and guidance; the firm’s policy on billable hours; management’s openness about firm strategies and partnership opportunities; and pro bono work.
This ranking complements Ropes & Gray’s recent recognition by Vault, which ranked the firm highly across multiple categories in its 2023 “Best Law Firms to Work For” and “Best Law Firms for Diversity” guides, including number one for formal training. The firm was also ranked number one on The American Lawyer’s prestigious "A-List" for 2022, which ranks the top firms in the United States based on financial success, associate satisfaction, pro bono commitment, racial diversity and gender equity.
