Nicholas is a renowned litigator and white-collar crime specialist whose accomplishments have cemented him as an expert in anti-corruption and anti-fraud matters. He focuses his practice on complex litigation in state and federal courts around the country, as well as on anti-corruption investigations and other international risk issues and SEC enforcement matters. Recently, he led the investigation and resolution of an FCPA matter involving a major company with operations in Mexico, and helped facilitate a transaction between one of the world’s largest private equity firms and a subsidiary of PEMEX, a Mexican state-owned gas company. The compliance-monitoring and risk-control measures he helped put in place for the PEMEX agreement have come to be recognized as best practice in the industry, influencing other Mexican companies in the oil-and-gas space to improve anti-corruption efforts.
