Debra Lussier Named a Law360 Fund Formation MVP

Debra Lussier, asset management partner, has been named a 2023 fund formation MVP by Law360. These awards honor exceptional lawyers who secured “hard-earned successes in high-stakes litigation, complex global matters and record-breaking deals.”

Debra closed multiple billion-dollar funds above their expectation, from advising TSG Partners in closing a fund with $6 billion in capital commitments to Parthenon Fund VII's $4.5 billion fund closing. On her proudest moment of 2023, Debra said “Overall, the fundraising market is weathering a storm; our sponsors seem to be continuing to thrive. I think the proudest moment is continuing to work with these sponsors even with the headwinds that the private equity industry faces in fundraising and continuing to deliver exceptional service to them.”

She pointed to the long-term relationships she builds with clients and the mentors at Ropes & Gray that have guided her as reasons she chose to specialize in fund management. On what motivates her, Debra highlighted that being the first call her clients make when they have questions, concerns or ideas is important to her. “What motivates me is being the first call that they make, and I try to do everything I can in order to be that first call.”
