The Brennan Legacy Awards Dinner was held in tribute to the values of American democracy and as a benefit to the Brennan Center for Justice at the NYU School of Law. The Center takes great pride each year in awarding Brennan Legacy Awards to those who have advanced the twin goals of equality and what Justice William J. Brennan, Jr. called "common human dignity" that lie at the heart of the Brennan Center's mission.
This year's honorees were: Michael S Helfer (General Counsel, Citigroup Inc.) and Antonia Hernández (President & CEO, California Community Foundation).
