June 10, 2008
Speakers:
Mark D. Rowland
The Northern District of California has updated its local rules for patent cases and some of the changes are controversial. As these rules are used as a model for patent litigation in many jurisdictions, we will explain the changes to the rules, and explore how the new rules may affect important aspects of a patent case, including contentions, claim construction and protective orders. We will also suggest ways in which the new rules can be used as a framework for improving case management.
