ACOs as Risk-Bearing Organizations: Tipping Points for State Insurance Regulation Teleconference
This teleconference addressed the Medicare Shared Savings Program and ACOs for patient populations other than Medicare beneficiaries. Topics for discussion were: the characteristics of risk-bearing organizations, regulatory concerns and requirements, the skills needed to manage performance and financial risk and the potential for regulation of ACOs by selected state insurance or managed care agencies.
