Event
June 15, 2016 – June 16, 2016
The Bay Area Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel (ACC) hosted two CLE seminars on June 15 and 16 on “The Defend Trade Secrets Act of 2016 – What You Need to Know,” featuring IP litigation partner Peter Brody (Washington, D.C.). Trade secret litigation has been on the rise, and the recent enactment of the Defend Trade Secrets Act of 2016 (DTSA) likely will accelerate this trend. The panel explored the reasons for the increased trade secret litigation activity, explained the key provisions of the DTSA, and discussed its implications for the business community. The panel also reviewed best practices and strategies for the preservation and enforcement of trade secrets and the mitigation of risks of misappropriation by competitors and employees.
