Life sciences partner Susan Galli (Boston) participated in Harvard Law School’s conference on Oct. 1 “New Funding Frontiers: Innovative Funding Models in Translational Research.”
The event, at the Petrie-Flom Center for Health Law Policy, Biotechnology, and Bioethics, brought together industry leaders to investigate the challenges and safeguards necessary to accelerate the development and application of new health care technologies and transactional research through private for-profit investment and support.
The program was organized by Ropes & Gray alum Carmel Shachar, executive director of the Petrie-Flom Center. Participants included Issi Rozen, chief business officer of the Broad Institute, Ropes & Gray alum Scott Orchard and Robert Urban from Johnson & Johnson Innovation, professor Robert Langer from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and other participants from Harvard, MIT, Partners HealthCare, Whitehead Institute for Biomedical Research, and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
