On October 20, the Sports Lawyers Association and Ropes & Gray hosted “The Future of Sports Betting – The Expansion of Sports Wagering, and Federal and State Efforts to Regulate the Industry” webinar.
The webinar was moderated by Christopher Conniff and featured panelists Alexandra Roth, associate counsel, league governance & policy, National Basketball Association; Jennifer Solar, legal and business affairs counsel, FanDuel; and Sunjay Matthews, senior vice president, head of legal, North America, DAZN. Panelists examined the expansion of sports betting and federal and state efforts to regulate the industry. The discussion also addressed the growth of sports wagering and daily fantasy gaming, the role of sports leagues, recently enacted and proposed state legislation and regulations, and the possibility of future federal legislation. Participants included members of the Sports Lawyers Association and legal professionals in the sports industry.
