Ropes & Gray served as U.S. counsel to Canada’s Yellow Media Inc. on the sale of its Trader Corp. unit to the private equity firm Apax Partners for about C$745 million in cash.

Based in Verdun, Quebec, Yelow Media is Canada’s leading Internet company, operating Yellow Pages Group and Canpages in addition to Trader Corp. Apax has more than $40 billion in funds under advice and management around the world.

The Ropes & Gray team advising Yellow Media included Boston-based private equity transactions partners Newcomb Stillwell and Jane Goldstein and finance partner Byung Choi; San Francisco-based private equity transaction partner Howard Glazer, New York-based finance partner Stefanie Birkmann; and New York-based complex business litigation partner Bill Sussman.
