Ropes & Gray IP litigation partner Robert Goldman has been named one of California’s leading IP litigators for the fourth consecutive year. The Daily Journal, a leading legal newspaper, honored Mr. Goldman in its April 7 issue.

The newspaper highlighted Mr. Goldman’s successful representation of Purdue Pharma in a series of patent infringement lawsuits. From 1999 to 2009, the manufacturer of OxyContin prevailed in a preliminary injunction motion against one patent infringer, in two district court trials against four other infringers and  twice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Four other groups of defendants have settled infringement actions with Purdue. Mr. Goldman and his colleagues have also advised Purdue in connection with their successful defense of their patent rights in Canada, the U.K. and other foreign jurisdictions.  A team led by Mr. Goldman is currently representing Purdue in patent infringement actions relating to Purdue’s 2010 reformulation of OxyContin.

The Daily Journal also noted Mr. Goldman’s representation of Advanced Micro Devices in two patent infringement cases, and Google and YouTube in another.

Ropes & Gray, a leading global law firm with more than 1,000 lawyers and professionals, has been recognized as having one of the world’s leading IP litigation groups.
