On October 12, a team of Ropes & Gray attorneys secured a dismissal for clients Transamerica Corporation and AEGON Direct Marketing Services, Inc. of an action brought by Value-Security Company LLC in the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland. Plaintiff filed their voluntary dismissal before and instead of serving the complaint. The complaint, filed on May 3, included allegations of patent infringement as well as trade secret misappropriation.
The team included IP litigation associate Han Xu (Boston) and summer associate Vincent Ling (New York).
