Loring Interviewed by Practising Law Institute on America Invents Act

New York-based IP Litigation partner Denise Loring was interviewed by the Practising Law Institute on Nov. 15 about the America Invents Act (AIA). In the interview, Ms. Loring explains the impact of the AIA: a switch from a first-to-invent system to a first-to-file system, the implementation of third party intervention proceedings, and change in what actually constitutes prior art. Denise also presented a more detailed discussion of the AIA and its impact on patent infringement litigation in PLI’s Patent Litigation 2011 program on Nov. 14-15 in New York City. The program included an expanded opening session focused on the impact of new case law on patent litigation, growing trends in ITC practice, and current trends in patent damages, among other topics.
