Ropes & Gray Advises Five Star Quality Care on Deal with Omnicare

A cross-practice team of Ropes & Gray attorneys is advising Five Star Quality Care, Inc. on the sale of its pharmacy division to Omnicare, Inc. based on an enterprise value of approximately $40 million. The closing is expected to occur during the second half of 2012.

The Ropes & Gray team was led by health care partner Timothy McCrystal and included tax partner Eric Elfman, intellectual property transactions partner David McIntosh, and benefits partner Renata Ferrari, and associates Michael Gilbert, Alyssa Minsky, Adam Greenwood and Jennifer Rikoski.

Five Star is a national healthcare and senior living services provider. It operates and manages senior living communities, including independent living communities, assisted living communities, and skilled nursing facilities.
