Ropes & Gray’s Privacy and Data Security Practice Recognized as “Privacy & Consumer Protection Group of the Year”
Law360, the online outlet for legal news and analysis, has named Ropes & Gray’s privacy and data security practice a “Privacy & Consumer Protection Group of the Year” for 2012, based on the firm’s significant high-stakes data breach work over the past year.
Among the cases Law360 cited were Ropes & Gray’s representation of:
- Heartland Payment Systems Inc., in connection with one of the largest-ever computer data security breaches
- Wyndham Hotels and Resorts LLC, in connection with a series of data security breaches on a number of the company’s hotels
- Aldo Group, in connection with the first lawsuit to challenge the lawfulness of data breach penalties imposed by a card brand
Ropes & Gray was also named “Practice of the Year” by Law360 for white collar, as well as for private equity.
