Ropes & Gray Honored by Yale Law Women for Gender Parity in Partner Promotions

Ropes & Gray has received Category Honors in Gender Parity in Partner Promotions in Yale Law Women’s 2014 Top Ten Family Friendly Firms survey. Conducted by the non-partisan Yale Law Women, which works to advance opportunities for women both at Yale Law School and in the legal profession generally, the annual survey examines various policies of Vault 100-ranked law firms, including key “family friendliness indicators” such as billable hour requirements, part-time and flex-time work options, parental leave policies, and the availability of child care.

To qualify for Category Honors in Gender Parity in Partner Promotions, a firm must have promoted five or more equity partners, at least 40 percent of whom identified as female.

Government enforcement partner Laura Hoey (Chicago), co-chair of the Women’s Forum and a graduate of Yale Law School, said, “This important recognition, in a category that goes right to the heart of the mission of the Women’s Forum, reflects Ropes & Gray’s commitment not only to retain, but also to promote women.”

The honor from Yale Law Women follows Ropes & Gray’s recent recognition for having the “Best Mentoring Program” at the 2014 Chambers Women in Law Awards – a forum that also recognized litigation partner Jane Willis (Boston) as a finalist for the “Outstanding Contribution to Gender Diversity (Private Practice) award.
