Ropes & Gray Volunteers Improve Appearance of Boston’s Largest Park During “Day in the Dirt” Service Event

On July 16, attorneys, staff and summer associates in the firm’s Boston office donated an afternoon of their time as part of a “Day in the Dirt,” to make a substantial improvement in the appearance of Franklin Park, the largest park in the city of Boston, and part of the Emerald Necklace park system.

At the service event, which was organized by Ropes & Gray and the Emerald Necklace Conservancy, a non-profit organization that acts as a steward to Boston’s iconic parks, volunteers split into multiple groups to remove invasive plants, clear overgrown areas of forest, mulch walking paths and remove garbage and weeds from parkway roads. The effort resulted in more than 200 bags of yard waste and debris removed from Franklin Park. In May, the Boston office made a donation to the Emerald Necklace Conservancy of 150 red oak trees in honor of the firm’s 150^th anniversary.
