Off-Price Retailer TJX Acquires Australia’s Trade Secret
Ropes & Gray represented The TJX Companies Inc., the leading off-price retailer of apparel and home fashions in the United States and worldwide, in its acquisition of Trade Secret, an off-price retailer with 35 stores in Australia, for a purchase price of AUD$80 million. The acquisition was completed on Oct. 24.
The Ropes & Gray team was led by securities & public companies partner Joel Freedman and included real estate partner Walter McCabe and tax partner Amanda Holt.
