In an article published on June 20 by Agenda, a Financial Times service, Ropes & Gray partner Michael Littenberg (New York) is quoted on developing trends related to conflict minerals disclosure reporting and independent private sector audits (IPSAs) of such reports, and the impact on companies’ supply chain compliance efforts.

The article noted that there were more than three times the number of IPSAs by 2016’s deadline of May 31 compared to 2015. Mr. Littenberg explained, “Every year, just like any other compliance initiative, you want to evaluate the effectiveness, benchmark against the market and what the NGOs are looking for, and where it’s appropriate, make improvements to the program.”
