Blackstone Acquires TeamHealth
Ropes & Gray advised Blackstone on health care regulatory issues in its proposed $6.1 billion acquisition of TeamHealth Holdings Inc., announced on Oct. 31.
Through more than 19,000 affiliated physicians and advanced practice clinicians, TeamHealth offers outsourced emergency medicine, hospital medicine, critical care, anesthesiology, orthopedic hospitalist, acute care surgery, obstetrics and gynecology hospitalist, ambulatory care, post-acute care and medical call center solutions to approximately 3,400 acute and post-acute facilities and physician groups nationwide.
The acquisition is expected to close in the first quarter of 2017.
The Ropes & Gray team was led by health care partner Deborah Kantar Gardner (Boston), and included health care associate Elizabeth Whitkin (Boston).
