Initiatives in Ropes & Gray’s Boston Office Strive to Make Holidays Brighter for Those in Need

As temperatures drop in the Boston area, volunteers from Ropes & Gray have been working to deliver warmth and cheer to people in need in the community.

As part of Ropes & Gray’s ongoing commitment to the Bundle Up Project, volunteers from the firm reached their goal of providing more than 684 new coats, hats and mittens to children at 18 shelters in the Boston area. The clothing was wrapped up by volunteers during the Dec. 12 packing party, and was delivered to the shelters throughout that week. The donations and support from lawyers and staff, as well as from more than 41 volunteers, made this year’s program a success.

Also on Dec. 12, Ropes & Gray’s Boston-based knitting group, Legal Loopholes, delivered dozens of hand-knit hats, scarves and mittens to Rosie’s Place, the first women’s shelter in the United States. More than 15 attorneys and staff participated in the knitting project, and eight members of the Loopholes delivered the handmade and beautifully giftwrapped goods to Rosie’s Place on Dec. 12. Private investment funds partner Ann Milner and tax & benefits counsel Sara Clevering contributed to the group’s knitting efforts this year.
