Ropes & Gray attorneys authored a chapter in Global Legal Insights: Fund Finance 2017. The chapter, “Capital call subscription facilities: the borrower’s view,” examines how capital call subscription facilities have become increasingly popular with investors and sponsors.

The universe of investors in private funds has become much larger and more varied; it now includes many smaller endowments and pension plans that do not have the administrative capacity to fund capital calls on a weekly basis from the numerous funds in which they invest. As a result, capital call credit facilities are useful both to investors and sponsors. The article also highlights the key protections that fund borrowers require in such facilities.

Finance partner Patricia Lynch and associate Dan Coyne authored the chapter.
