Bob Fischler Secures Jury Trial Win for LPL Financial
Ropes & Gray secured a jury trial win last week in New Jersey federal court for LPL Financial LLC. The case involved claims by a former senior executive of LPL whose employment was terminated in August 2013. He sued soon thereafter claiming that his termination was in retaliation for a lawsuit he previously brought against LPL and that LPL breached his employment contract by failing to pay over $20 million in severance benefits, stock options, and bonuses.
After five days of testimony, the jury returned a verdict for LPL on all issues. Business & securities litigation partner Bob Fischler was lead trial counsel for LPL and local counsel from Saiber LLP.
