As part of Ropes & Gray’s Latin America initiative, attorneys from the firm’s government enforcement and private investment funds practice groups co-hosted two panel discussions in São Paulo, Brazil during the week of June 26. Ropes & Gray partnered with FTI Consulting and Brazilian law firm, Mattos Filho, to organize the panels, which were held at Mattos Filho’s São Paulo office.

One panel examined the history and role of compliance monitorships in the U.S. and Latin America, and the second panel focused on foreign investors and anti-corruption concerns impacting investment activity in Brazil. The two panels were made up of representatives from Ropes & Gray, FTI and Mattos Filho.

The Ropes & Gray attorneys who spoke at the events included government enforcement partners Colleen Conry, and Alex Rene, and private investment funds partner Matt Posthuma.
