Ropes & Gray represented Duckhorn Wine Company in its acquisition of Calera Wine Company. The sale includes the Calera winery, time-honored brand, tasting room, estate vineyards, and all inventory and assets. Founded by Josh Jensen in 1975, Calera Wine Company has played a pivotal role in establishing Pinot Noir as one of North America’s great varietal wines, and helped to establish the Central Coast as one of the New World’s most exciting wine regions. The transaction was announced on August 15, 2017.
