Intellectual property litigation partner and practice co-chair Andrew Thomases (Silicon Valley) was quoted in a Bloomberg Big Law Business article published on Jan. 29. The article examines the impact the U.S. Supreme Court’s TC Heartland patent venue decision on litigation strategy.

Mr. Thomases explains that since the TC Heartland decision patent infringement cases in the plaintiff-friendly Eastern District of Texas have dropped nearly 50 percent and increased in the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware. He expects more patent cases to move to the International Trade Commission or the Patent Trial and Appeal Board with speedier results that can pressure a party to settle a case.
