A Law360 article published Aug. 27 by health care partner Michael Lampert (Boston) examined a proposed rule from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services that would revise the Medicare Shared Savings Program (MSSP) for accountable care organizations.
The co-authors explain that the proposed revision modified the participation options available to address what CMS has characterized as weak risk incentives in the current MSSP program, and to encourage more ACO participation in one of the risk models, among several other changes.
