On Oct. 7, a Ropes & Gray team of 34 attorneys and support team members participated in the 2018 Boston Athletic Association (B.A.A.) Half Marathon, a 13.1 mile charity race through Boston and Brookline’s Emerald Necklace park system, presented by Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund to support groundbreaking cancer research.

Dana-Farber has partnered with the B.A.A. Half Marathon since 2003 as the race’s presenting sponsor and exclusive charity team. Through this relationship, Dana-Farber runners have collectively raised more than $6 million for cancer research and enabled Dana-Farber scientists and clinicians to positively impact the lives of cancer patients around the world.

This year’s Ropes & Gray Half Marathon team raised more than $35,000 and was named a top three fundraising team on the morning of the race. Ropes & Gray representatives started the sounding horn for the race in recognition of the team’s size and fundraising accomplishments.

The effort was led by co-head of Ropes & Gray's technology, media & telecommunications practice Ed Black, organized by senior alumni relations coordinator Emma Seideman, and included a cross-office team of volunteers and runners.
