Ropes & Gray is advising Bain Capital Credit and Intermediate Capital Group as lenders in connection with the financing of the proposed acquisition of Study Group – a leading provider of international education in the UK and Europe, Australia, New Zealand and North America - by Ardian, from Providence Private Equity.
Study Group prepares international students, who wish to enter leading English-speaking universities, through educational courses that provide them with the academic, language and learning skills needed to succeed. Study Group is a market leader in the UK and in Australia, and partners with 48 prestigious universities.
The Ropes & Gray team is led by finance partner Alex Robb, together with finance associate Jacob Bennett, both based in London.
The transaction showcases the strength of Ropes & Gray’s London finance offering to alternative capital providers, as well as borrowers, traditional lenders and investment banks. It continues the momentum of recently completed mandates, in which the team has advised lenders in connection with financings for Alloheim, Sunrise Medical, The Binding Site, Itiviti and Boparan.
