Ropes & Gray Advises American Well on Acquisition of Aligned Telehealth

Ropes & Gray advised American Well on its acquisition of Aligned Telehealth, on pace to become the largest U.S. provider of on-demand telepsychiatry consults in emergency rooms and acute hospital medical floors. The transaction was announced on Nov. 7. The press release is here.

American Well is a leading U.S. telehealth platform, connecting the country’s largest hospitals, insurers, employers, and consumer electronics companies to deliver healthcare anywhere. The partnership will allow American Well to expand its industry-defining telehealth offerings by adding on-demand emergency/consult psychiatry, on-site psychiatric staffing and integrated behavioral health capabilities to the company’s platform.
