The Week at Ropes & Gray

This week, Ropes & Gray attorneys announced multiple noteworthy private equity and M&A deals across various industries, including technology, real estate, retail and consumer brands, health care, and life sciences:

• Alternative investment manager Audax Private Equity announced its sale of AAMP Global, a supplier of vehicle and related consumer technology solutions, to The Halifax Group. Ropes & Gray advised Audax on the sale.
• Hariri Interests and its subsidiary, Texas Tower Limited, closed the sale of fee and ground lease interests in 600 and 601 Travis Street in Houston, Texas, to the subsidiaries of a joint venture between Cerberus Capital Management and Hines. Ropes & Gray represented Hariri Interests in the sale.
• Vince Holding Corp., a global luxury apparel and accessories brand, announced its acquisition of contemporary women’s brands Rebecca Taylor and Parker. Ropes & Gray advised Vince on the deal. 
• Private equity firm BV Investment Partners acquired EDCO Health Information Solutions, a provider of data indexing solutions for health care providers. Ropes & Gray advised BV Investment Partners on the acquisition.
• Pending review by the U.S. Department of Justice and the Federal Communications Commission, Liberty Latin America has completed a $1.95 billion acquisition of AT&T’s operations in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Ropes & Gray advised Liberty Latin America on the financing aspects—including bank and bond financing—of the transaction. 
• Global medical device company Wright Medical Group has agreed to be acquired by medical technology company Stryker as part of a transaction with a total enterprise value of approximately $5.4 billion. Ropes & Gray represented Wright Medical in the acquisition.

The firm announced the 2020 recipients of its Roscoe Trimmier Jr. Diversity Scholarship, awarded to law school students who have demonstrated academic, professional, pro bono and civic excellence. The scholarship recipients will each receive a $25,000 award to offset the expenses of their legal education. They will join the firm as summer associates in 2020, with two joining in New York, three in Boston, one in Chicago and one in Washington, D.C.

In Seoul, Ropes & Gray volunteers spent time at a vocational training center for the disabled, helping residents fold and assemble more than 1,300 paper bags. Located in the city’s Dongjak district, the center is operated by the Korea Association of Persons with Physical Disabilities and provides job training for people with special needs.
