In a Legaltech News and Law.com article published on Dec. 18, IP litigation counsel Evan Gourvitz (New York) discussed the legal challenges of social media defamation cases.

Mr. Gourvitz explains that while a defamatory remark in the pages of a newspaper could live on for some time, an inflammatory internet post can be quickly deleted. In such a case, a plaintiff may have cause for action, but proving harm becomes more difficult.
