The latest issue of Boston College Law School Magazine features Jim Dowden’s expertise on complex litigation and investigations, including his co-leading role in Ropes & Gray’s independent investigation into the abuse of gymnasts by Larry Nassar. “What was unique about our report was that it didn’t just focus on who knew what and when, but we also had a large focus on cultural conditions and how they allowed it to happen,” Jim says in the article.

Before joining Ropes & Gray in 2012, Jim spent five years as an assistant US attorney in the economic crimes and public corruption units in the US Attorney’s Office for the District of Massachusetts. “I always had an inclination for doing investigative work and working in the criminal justice system,” he says. In his role as adjunct professor at B.C. Law, Jim enjoys interacting with his students, some of whom are similarly drawn to careers in white collar law.
