Health care partner Tom Bulleit (Washington, D.C.) was quoted in a Bloomberg Law article on how the coronavirus pandemic has led to changes in many federal health regulations. Tom explains that one of the biggest changes for health care providers is a waiver that allows for the large expansion of Medicare’s coverage of telehealth, with reimbursement rates that are similar to office visits.

Tom notes that the waiver allows Medicare patients to receive care from their homes, and allows doctors to provide diagnosis and treatment of patients who reside in a state different than the doctor. He also cautions that since the waiver applies only to Medicare, state laws restricting cross-border treatment may still be an impediment to be addressed.
