Ropes & Gray Advises WellSky, a TPG Portfolio Company, in its Investment with Leonard Green & Partners

Ropes & Gray advised WellSky, a TPG Capital portfolio company, in its agreement to add Leonard Green & Partners as a new capital partner to the global health and community care technology company. As part of the transaction, TPG will make a new equity investment in WellSky. 

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. The transaction, announced on July 20, is subject to customary regulatory approvals and is expected to close in the third quarter of 2020. The press release is here. 

WellSky serves more than 15,000 client sites around the world including many of the largest hospital systems, blood banks and labs, home health and hospice franchises, government agencies and human services organizations. TPG Capital is the private equity platform of alternative asset firm TPG.  Leonard Green & Partners is a private equity firm based in Los Angeles. 

The Ropes & Gray team that advised WellSky was led by private equity partners Chau Le and Jay Freedman, and included tax partner Benjamin Rogers (all of San Francisco), employment, executive compensation & benefits partner Danna Kivell (New York), finance partner Michael Lee (Boston), and litigation & enforcement partner Ama Adams (Washington D.C.).
