Ropes & Gray Advises Humble Group on Solent Acquisition

Ropes & Gray has advised Humble Group AB– a Swedish food-tech and FMCG-group supplying the next generation of products that are good for people and the planet – on its up to SEK 1.384 billion acquisition of Solent Global Limited, a leading international supplier of healthy foods and personal care products. 

Solent, a UK headquartered company, with operations in China, Hong Kong, South Africa, Vietnam and Australia has a large distribution network, with a strong focus on healthy impulse snacking as well as environmentally friendly sustainable products in numerous categories such as healthy snacks & personal care, household and reusables. The deal will help optimise and develop Solent’s brands in order to launch further products to the market. 

The Ropes & Gray team was led by private equity transactions partner John Newton, with associates Phoebe Glenister-So, Craig Jourdan and Eamon Gallagher and trainee Emilio Fabrizi (all based in London) and partner Oliver Nip and associate Sharon Shi (both based in Hong Kong). Other members of the team included tax partner Brenda Coleman; privacy, data protection and cybersecurity partner Rohan Massey and associates Edward Machin and Robyn Annetts; life sciences partner Lincoln Tsang and associate Hannah Kerr-Peterson; and litigation & enforcement associate Mike Harris (all based in London).
