Dunkin’ Brands $11.3 Billion Take-Private Transaction Wins Franchise Times’ 2021 Deal of the Year

The $11.3 billion take-private sale of Dunkin’ Brands Group Inc. to the restaurant company Inspire Brands Inc. captured the 2021 Deal of the Year from the publication Franchise Times, which covers the franchising industry. 

A large Ropes & Gray team led by mergers & acquisitions partners Craig Marcus and Jane Goldstein represented Dunkin’ Brands, parent company of Dunkin’ and Baskin-Robbins, in its sale to Atlanta-based Inspire Brands, owner of a portfolio that includes more than 11,000 Arby’s, Buffalo Wild Wings, SONIC Drive-In, Rusty Taco, and Jimmy John’s restaurants worldwide. Inspire Brands is majority owned by affiliates of Roark Capital.
