Ropes & Gray Advises Silver Lake in Waymo’s $2.5 Billion Investment Round

Ropes & Gray advised Silver Lake in its participation in a $2.5 billion investment round in Waymo, Alphabet Inc.’s self-driving car unit. Investors in this round also included Alphabet, Andreessen Horowitz, the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board, Fidelity Management & Research Co. and Tiger Global, among others. The transaction was announced on June 16. Silver Lake and Alphabet led a $2.25 billion investment round in Waymo in March 2020. Silver Lake is the leading global investment firm dedicated to building and growing great technology and tech-enabled companies.
