In The Wall Street Journal, asset management partner George Raine (Boston) discussed the Securities and Exchange Commission’s new efforts, including assembling a task force, to bring cases against companies and asset managers that make promises about ESG that mislead investors.
“You can’t go to a mutual fund board meeting without hearing about all the new ESG products the managers are planning to come out with,” George said. “This is a clear response to what looks like an increasingly accelerating flywheel in the industry toward an ESG-tilt on investment advisory and fund products.”
