Chris Townsend, a London-based counsel in Ropes & Gray’s market-leading asset management team, has been named a ‘Next Gen Leader of Secondaries 2021’ by Secondaries Investor. The annual list recognises the ‘20 most influential people in secondaries’ who are shaping the future through originating and executing some of the most cutting-edge deals, ensuring secondaries is one of the most creative private markets sectors.
Chris advises European and global sponsors on the establishment and structuring of private funds. He is also experienced in spin-outs and secondaries transactions, particularly GP-led solutions, fund restructurings, portfolio sales and other liquidity solutions. Over the past 18 months, Chris has led on the legal side of secondaries transactions totaling over $2bn.
