In a Financial Times Ignites article, asset management partner George Raine and capital markets partner and ESG, CSR and business and human rights practice global chair Michael Littenberg examined Securities and Exchange Commission proposals that would require certain funds that market themselves as environmentally focused to disclose the aggregate carbon emissions of their portfolios, and that would require public companies to disclose climate-risk information.

Michael explains that if the climate-risk disclosure rules are finalized as written, they will likely face legal challenges. George notes on the funds proposal that if a fund makes a promise on a certain ESG goal, it must show how it plans to follow through with it.
