Sports, media and entertainment practice senior counsel Dennis Coleman (Boston), an accomplished athlete and winning quarterback for Brown University, discussed with The Brown Daily Herald  the importance of the University’s diverse student body and inclusive environment during the height of the civil rights movement.

In 1973, Coleman made history when he faced off against UPenn’s Marty Vaughn in the first-ever matchup between two Black quarterbacks in more than 100 years of college football.

Dennis currently represents a variety of professional sports industry clients, including head coaches in basketball and football as well as representing the National Football League. He uses his influential position to mentor the next generation of diverse lawyers. “I spend a lot of my time talking to young lawyers of color trying to help them navigate their way through Big Law. I really enjoy the opportunity to be a mentor to younger people,” Coleman said.
