The Partnership for New York City has selected tax partner Kristen Winckler (New York) as one of its 2022 David Rockefeller Fellows. She joins 42 other senior corporate executives as a member of the program’s class of 2022.

The Partnership for New York City established the David Rockefeller Fellows Program in 1989. The program prepares senior corporate executives for more active leadership in civic and public affairs and gives them the unique opportunity to take a more instrumental role in shaping the future of New York City.

Kristen is a tax partner focusing on real estate transactions, real estate fund formation and operation, and REIT taxation.  She advises fund sponsors on the formation of U.S., European and Asia Pacific-focused real estate equity and debt funds, and clients on the federal income tax aspects of complex real estate acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures, financings and restructurings and investments by and in private and public REITs.

“This unique program prioritizes the issues of utmost importance to New Yorkers -- health, safety, housing, labor, and financial security -- and will be instrumental to ensuring a full recovery from the ongoing pandemic,” Kristen said. “I am honored to join the talented group of individuals chosen this year as David Rockefeller Fellows.”

As a Rockefeller Fellow, Kristen will meet with key government officials, important nonprofit institutions, legislators, labor leaders, journalists, and civic activists to gain new insights into the complexities and challenges of managing public agencies. She will also engage with global business leaders and attend site visits with leaders of various city agencies and major cultural and educational institutions.
