Ropes & Gray was named “Law Firm of the Year” for hedge funds in the U.S. News-Best Lawyers “Best Law Firms” rankings released on Nov. 1. The ranking was based on a survey of law firm clients, leading lawyers and law firm managers, partners and associates at more than 8,000 law firms.
The investment management and hedge fund practices at Ropes & Gray are among the largest and most diversified of any U.S. law firm. The principal focus is the representation of investment companies, investment advisers, hedge fund sponsors and purchasers of derivatives and commodities instruments. Approximately 150 Ropes & Gray lawyers devote all or a significant portion of their time to the investment management and hedge fund area. In 2009, the firm’s investment funds practice earned the Chambers USA Award for Excellence, an award that recognizes the preeminent investment funds practice in the United States.
