Ropes & Gray has been honored with the 2012 “Award for Excellence” for investment funds by Chambers USA. The award, presented in New York City on June 7, recognizes the preeminent investment funds practice in the country. Chambers bases its awards in large part on client interviews seeking feedback on service provided by top law firms. Ropes & Gray was selected as the winner among six finalists in the investment funds category. In 2009, Ropes & Gray’s investment funds practice earned the same award.

Ropes & Gray’s investment funds practice is among the largest and most sophisticated in the industry. The practice includes representation of registered, hedge, and private funds, and institutional investors. The firm’s investment funds clients range from start-up ventures to firms with hundreds of billions of dollars under management.

In March, Private Equity Analyst ranked Ropes & Gray the #1 U.S. law firm in private equity fund formation and review, a position the firm has held for seven of the last nine years. Ropes & Gray was also named 2011-12 “Law Firm of the Year” for private and hedge funds by U.S. News and Best Lawyers, based on a survey of law firm clients, leading lawyers and law firm managers, partners and associates at more than 8,000 law firms.

The firm's investment funds practice has been recognized among the nation's elite by Chambers, Legal 500, U.S. News Best Lawyers, Practical Law Company, and Private Equity Analyst. In addition to its historical strength in the United States, the firm has expanded into important fundraising markets in Asia and Europe and is poised to advise on funds matters around the world.
