Investment Management Attorneys Honored as “Independent Counsel of the Year” at Mutual Fund Industry Awards
Ropes & Gray investment management partners Gregory Sheehan and Brian McCabe were selected as “Independent Counsel of the Year” at the 21st Annual Mutual Fund Industry Awards. The awards, sponsored by Institutional Investor’s Fund Industry Intelligence and Fund Director Intelligence, honor individuals and organizations for their excellence, achievements and contributions to the mutual fund industry. The “Independent Counsel of the Year” award recognizes attorneys demonstrating outstanding representation of independent directors.
Mr. Sheehan and Mr. McCabe were recognized for advising the independent trustees of the Pax World Funds in connection with the merger of the Pax MSCI EAFE ESG Index ETF with the Pax World International Fund, which will create the Pax World International ESG Index Fund. This novel transaction, expected to close March 31, is the first conversion of an ETF into a mutual fund in the industry.
An awards dinner was held at the Mandarin Oriental in New York on March 27.
