Ropes & Gray has received two prestigious honors for its work advising clients in the life sciences industry. The firm was named “U.S. Life Cycle Firm of the Year” and “Government Investigations (International) Firm of the Year” at the 2014 LMG Life Sciences Awards ceremony in New York on Sept. 17.

The LMG (Legal Media Group) Awards recognize attorneys, firms and in-house counsel teams that have played a significant role in the life sciences industry over the past year. The “Life Cycle” award is particularly noteworthy as it recognizes an elite firm with across-the-board capabilities in three or more areas of focus, including regulatory, intellectual property, finance & transactional, and non-IP litigation & enforcement, that allows it to handle pertinent legal issues facing a product throughout its life cycle.

Ropes & Gray was a finalist in two additional categories, “Intellectual Property Firm of the Year” and “Patent Strategy and Management Team of the Year.”

Earlier in the month, the 2014 LMG Life Sciences Guide recognized Ropes & Gray in every section of the guide, including regulatory, intellectual property, finance, non-IP litigation and enforcement and life cycle firms, and was specifically highlighted as a leader in the following sub-categories of the publication:

  • Licensing & Collaboration (Non-University)
  • Patent Prosecution

In addition to these prestigious firm accolades, 17 Ropes & Gray attorneys were named “life science stars.”

Research for the publication was based on nearly 1,000 interviews and surveys completed by clients and leading lawyers.
