Ropes & Gray Receives “Finance Deal of the Year: Insolvency & Restructuring” Award from The Asian Lawyer

Practices: Business Restructuring, Finance, Capital Solutions & Private Credit

On March 3, The Asian Lawyer hosted the second annual Asian Legal Awards celebrating the best examples of high-stakes legal work occurring in the region and honored Ropes & Gray with the “Finance Deal of the Year: Insolvency & Restructuring.”

The award recognizes the firm’s work advising an ad hoc committee of bondholders of LDK Solar Co. Ltd.’s New York law-governed 10 percent senior notes, in the context of a wider restructuring of LDK’s offshore liabilities. This was a cross-border matter with parallel proceedings in the United States, the Cayman Islands and Hong Kong.

This award comes just days after Chambers Asia 2015 announced its rankings, which position Ropes & Gray among the best law firms in the region, and follows the November 2014 release of the Asia Pacific Legal 500 rankings that recognize Ropes & Gray for its leading work in various practices.

Ropes & Gray’s Asia-based attorneys counsel global and Asian corporate clients, leading investment banks, and many of the world’s largest private equity funds on a wide range of complex legal matters that span industries and geographies. A global law firm with more than 1,100 lawyers and professionals, Ropes & Gray serves its clients from offices in the world’s major centers of business, finance, technology and government, including Hong Kong, Shanghai, Seoul, Tokyo, London, New York, Washington, D.C., Boston, Chicago, San Francisco and Silicon Valley.
